The place was nice, with a good spot for bikes, and the free laundry machine was really handy. Scooters outside made some noise, though that's how it seems all over Taiwan. What spoiled things for me was the woman downstairs. She was arrogant and dismissive, didn't help when we had questions, and we could hear her laughing about us with her friends at the coffee bar once we turned away. What the hell?

The price was decent for basic accommodation, though the owner was rarely around. The coffee lady, the owner's friend, made a nice brew. But she and her friends took up most of the common area, which made it hard to meet other travelers and hurt the atmosphere. There was only one bathroom and shower for a large dorm, though the dorm wasn't full.

The location was good, and the receptionist was very kind. They didn't speak English, but we managed to communicate with Google. The curtain was thick enough to block the air conditioning, though it fell 2-3 cm short of covering the window. There was no lamp or bedside table, and they switched off the air conditioning in the common area at 10 pm even when people were still there.

It's good for what you pay, with plenty of shops nearby and the train station not far away. As a cyclist, I also appreciated being able to bring my bike inside at night.

For the price, you get what you're looking for. The bed didn't feel smooth, and my back got itchy when I lay on it. The sheet was thin. Still, it was good overall.
