YOYO Hotel

We slept well and enjoyed the breakfast, and the location made our transport plans easy. We stayed one night during a two-day stop before our Alishan and NUCC trip. Chiayi Main Station is right across the street, and the BRT from the HSR stops at the Chiayi Bus Terminal behind the station. We also left our luggage at the hotel. The buffet breakfast is free, with plenty of drinks including soya milk, almond milk, and matcha. Our bedroom was huge, the mattresses were comfortable, and the rates were affordable. Drinking water is available in the hallway. The spacious lobby, on the 11th floor, has a nice city view. There’s no ramp from the pavement to the entrance, so you have to carry large bags up. The elevator is slow. There are lots of 110V outlets but just one 220V one. The building is old, some areas smell unpleasant, and the bathtub is slippery.

The staff were kind, and free drinking water was available on every floor. Breakfast was okay. There’s no bidet, but I had brought my portable one, so it didn’t bother me. I was put in a room on the 13th floor, which felt scary to most Filipinos. The location is great if you’ve booked an early bus to Alishan. Chiayi Station is a one-minute walk away.

We had an easy stay at the Yoyo hotel. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was really tasty, with a big selection of vegetarian dishes made especially for us, something hotels don’t often offer. It’s right across from the train station, handy for an early start to Alishan. They also let us leave our motorbike in their private carpark while we stayed up at Alishan for two nights. Thank you!

Our room and bathroom were spacious, spotless, and had no bad smells, so we slept very well. On the second night, after we’d booked two nights, the receptionist kindly moved us to a larger room with four queen beds. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. The location is hard to beat: Chiayi Yoyo Hotel is across from the train station and bus stop. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, with delicious Taiwanese and Chinese-style dishes. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return.
