Fuli Stay

I was here briefly for a business trip, and the hot water was great. The shampoo and body wash had a lovely smell and seemed to use natural herbs. There was even a cypress scent in the room. I’d definitely stay here again.

The four-person room is 3,600 NTD on weekdays, with breakfast not included. The solid wood bed frame, table, and chairs were comfortable. It’s close to the train station, with a 7-Eleven right next door and a Sanyang motorcycle shop nearby, so renting a scooter for Chishang and Liushishi Mountain is convenient. Fuli’s slow, quiet pace is easy to enjoy.

I stayed in a first-floor room and found it clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the cypress essential oil smell was lovely when I walked in. The staff seemed to be family. They were friendly but gave me space, which made things less stressful as someone introverted who isn’t great at chatting. The bathroom doesn’t separate the shower from the toilet, and the trains are quite loud at night. From the station, it’s about a five-minute walk uphill to the right. There aren’t many places to eat nearby, just two or three noodle shops and a buffet bento shop, though there are two similar convenience stores and two well-known drink shops on Zhongshan Road. Breakfast wasn’t included, so I can’t comment on it. Bicycle service would be useful if they could offer it. For a relaxing break in eastern Taiwan, Fuli is a good choice. The price is reasonable, the scenery is beautiful, and it’s a great stop along the way.

I booked this B&B in Hualien, near the Fuli border in the Hualien-Taitung area. The owner seemed to be overseas when I arrived, but the neighbors welcomed me warmly and even brought me lychees that evening. It felt so welcoming. The room was comfortable, with a lovely cypress scent, and having a convenience store nearby was a big plus. I’ll definitely come back!
