Her Home Homestay

A typhoon meant we had to leave Green Island early, even though we’d planned to stay 4 nights. The owner changed our dates and only charged us for the nights we actually stayed. He also sorted out a scooter rental and moved our boat ticket. When we were short on time, they even took our luggage to the harbor. Such great service from an amazing family. Thank you all so much!

The rooms had what we needed, and the bedding was clean. Our host was welcoming and friendly. She helped us rent a scooter at the port, then drove our bags back to the hotel for us.

The owner is very talented, and it’s quite something that he hand-painted every room. He also refunded us for a day when bad weather made us leave early, which I really appreciated. The beds are rock hard, so they’re a good fit if you like a firm mattress. It’s a great place for kids. Breakfast was confusing. I was told it was provided by his mother at a place down the street from 0730-0930 each morning, but when we went there, it was empty. The hotel manager gave us something else, though it wasn’t what had been described. Maybe the off-season and bad weather threw things off. The refund for the night we lost more than made up for the breakfast issue, but double-check the details when booking. Overall, the place was pretty good.

The two owners were possibly the kindest, friendliest people I met in Taiwan. They gave us great tips and excellent service. When one of our scooters had trouble, the owner even came all the way to the other side of Green Island to help us, free of charge!
