Several flying ants were in the room. We first assumed the rain had brought them in, but after checking reviews, it seems this has happened before. The hot water took around five minutes to arrive, and the flow was very weak. We couldn't use either the bathtub or the balcony pool, though those were the main things we'd wanted. There was also a repeated banging noise in the morning. We thought staff might be cleaning, but we were the only guests that day, and we never found out what caused it.

The Burano - 1322 Tropical Yellow Double Room (Bathtub, No Balcony, Pool) had fresh, well-equipped decor, with especially nice ceiling lights and bathroom tiles. The towels were plentiful, and the place felt like a top-tier guesthouse. Self check-in was easy and available around the clock, and parking was close by. At the end of February I saw just one ant in the room, not the many insects mentioned online. In my test, hot water took about two minutes to come through, but the flow was fine. A spare trash bag in the bin would be handy for guests, including people extending their stay. The room fridge didn't seem to have temperature controls. The neighboring guesthouse may have barbecue and singing. It stopped before 9 PM, but with our windows shut the sound was still around 50 decibels, though whether that bothers you is subjective. Someone who checked in at 7:30 AM seemed to be tidying, with repeated loud knocks from things being moved or dropped.

Fangfang picked Bulanuo Villa B&B for a winter stay through Booking.com, where she often finds good deals. Summer rates were too high, and she'd never tried a villa-style B&B, so she took advantage of the winter discount. The family room with a bathtub cost 3233 yuan per night. The exterior has a lovely resort feel, though the outdoor pool may have been less clean because it was winter. The room was smaller than expected but quiet at night. Fangfang was on the second floor, and from about 5 to 6 am, upstairs shoes and footsteps on the wooden floor went on for nearly an hour and kept her from sleeping in on vacation. The bathtub was large enough for two adults. Shampoo, shower gel and towels were provided, but you need to bring your own. Overall, it was pretty good, and the drawbacks are subjective.
