The place seemed quaint at first, but things went downhill near the front door. There were ants and lizards around, so if you like reptiles and ants or want to live a bit of a primeval life, welcome. Otherwise, I'd leave. The towels had lipstick on them, and there was hair all over the room. I was there for just ONE night and was super irritated. The one star is for the people who came to tidy our room ASAP. No, it's only because I can't give zero stars. DON'T FREAKING BOOK IT. RUN WHILE YOU CAN.

I booked two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday, on Agoda for NT$850 per night. It was a private room with a double bed, so I thought it was good value. The long wait to check in was rough in the heat, but looking up at the stars later calmed me down. I quietly wrote this review and uploaded it. I hope it's useful. I'm heading to Kenting National Park tomorrow and feel nervous! Getting in took a while. I reached the inn at 3:05 PM, but the door was locked and nobody answered. I waited outside about 15 minutes, then waved down a passing driver for help. Thankfully, he was from a neighboring hotel and took me to another check-in location. To my surprise, it wasn't at "Panesula" at all. After registering my passport, the woman there gave me a room number and a business card, not a key card. Back at the inn the door was still locked. The man called someone to open it, and after about 10 minutes, "her" arrival finally made sense when she came down with a baby and let me in. No more waiting, and no more worrying. As for the room, it was spacious, with fast Wi-Fi, a comfortable double bed, cool air conditioning, quick and steady hot water, clear views of the stars from the rooftop, and a TV with lots of options that was easy to use. But the air conditioner vent pointed right at the bed and could give you a headache, so be careful about getting sick while travelling. There were ants in the room that crawled onto the bed and slept with me, and black grime on the walls looked bad. The bathroom didn't have a separate shower area. The inn is about a nine-minute walk from check-in, and it's remote and quiet with no restaurants or shops nearby. That's a big issue if you don't have a car, especially when walking back at night, since you might run into an active dog.
