Howard Beach Resort Kenting

The room is huge, and everything else was very good, but the shower was disappointing: weak flow and pressure, and the temperature was hard to adjust. The location is fantastic, right beside the Kenting Night Market, with lots of good food and fun things to do within a five-minute walk. There's a beach nearby too.

The staff were kind and tried hard to help, but I really wouldn't recommend this place. We stayed in the villas, and they looked nothing like the photos or what had been promised. The hotel is outdated, the room smelled strongly of damp, and there were no windows. The layout was awful and it definitely didn't feel like five-star standard. The location is convenient, but reception was often unattended. The pool was empty and had to be refilled daily, bringing constant staff traffic and noise. There's also a small deer petting area on site, and the conditions were awful. The deer looked miserable, which was heartbreaking. Honestly, the hotel should be shut down over that.

The friendly staff seemed to be doing their best to maintain the property, but the problems felt like management issues. There's a lot of black mold covering the walls, which seems really bad for health. It shouldn't be hard to use anti-mold paint or repaint the place every couple of years. The attached shopping mall is a ghost town and just as poorly maintained. It's a real pity, since the resort has the infrastructure and location to be a top resort. We were told it's five-star, but the only five stars I saw were the metal ones at the entrance.

It's a somewhat old hotel, and the internet in the room was patchy. The rooms are big, and the bed, duvet, and pillow were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was large, with plenty to choose from. There's also a big pool and direct access to a really sweet, beautiful beach.
