Kenting Dragon Hostel

When life gets overwhelming, this hotel does more than give me somewhere to rest. I leave feeling like my whole self has been rebooted, not just recharged.

The Japanese beer in our room was good, and the honey juice was a healthy drink. The hotel was very clean, even the surroundings smelled nice, and it had a peaceful feel. The lobby staff were so nice and welcoming 👍

We spent three days at Hayata Hotel during our Taiwan bicycle trip, and I felt at home there. The manager, Andrea, is internationally trained and was available whenever I needed help. She handled my transportation problem very professionally. It’s a modern, quiet hotel near Kenting National Park, with large rooms that are exceptionally well furnished and comfortable even for a longer stay. Breakfast has several courses and is a lovely way to start the day. The English-speaking staff give great service, recommend local highlights, and help arrange excursions. There aren’t many restaurants right nearby, but Hengchun and Kenting dining options are only a few minutes away. I highly recommend it for exploring Kenting National Park and spending a few days somewhere modern and service-oriented.

Everything else was good, but the Sky Bar was a letdown. The bartender seemed lazy and only offered beer or wine, even with people eating there. Why was mixing a gin-tonic such a problem? Also, payment was cash only, which felt out of place in such a high-class hotel.
