Fleur Lis Hotel Hsinchu

I tried the hotel’s buffet for weekend lunch and liked it a lot. The place is nice, and the food is DELICIOUS.

It’s a great place to stay, close to Big City mall with lots of restaurants nearby. I highly recommend the buffet here.

Breakfast had a good mix of Taiwanese and Western dishes. The beef soup was especially good: you can add beef slices and pour hot soup over them to cook the meat. They also serve Asahi beer on tap at breakfast. The hotel is about 700m from Hsinchu Train Station, and it was an easy walk even with luggage. There are three convenience stores nearby, plus a soybean milk shop (Yonghe Soy Milk). Big city, a large shopping mall, is also close, with shops like nitori, uniqlo, daiso and city super. All in all, we had a good stay. We booked a quadtriple room for four nights. It was spacious enough for all three adults to open three medium size luggage and still walk around comfortably. There were two queen size beds with four pillows on each. The hotel is non-smoking, but our first room smelled strongly of smoke. We told the front desk, someone came up to check, and they promptly moved us to another room. There weren’t sockets or bedside tables next to the beds. All three of us had to charge our devices at the charging table desk by the study desk. It wasn’t convenient to share, though it did help us keep off our phones in bed before sleep. Anyone who needs a CPAP machine might find that setup inconvenient. The toilet was good, and they added a metal hook to the glass shower door so we could hang more towels. There’s no self-service laundry room, but the hotel does offer laundry service.

The shower head in our room wasn’t working, so they offered us another room. We’d already settled in, but a staff member promptly brought us another room on the same level so we could shower. Impressive service and hospitality.
