Hotel j Metropolis

The housekeeper on our floor was amazing throughout our stay. She even washed our young child's pajamas and brought us some local snacks. She deserves 10 stars! The front desk staff were friendly too. It's an older hotel, but very clean. We left the car parked and walked to nearby shopping and restaurants using a pedestrian walkway close by.

It's a simple, affordable business hotel in a good spot near a shopping center. The room was comfortable, spacious, and really clean. Staff were very friendly, spoke English, and pointed out the nearest 7-11, MacDonald, and hi-life. Breakfast is served from 6:30am to 10am. There may be better hotels, but this one is good and cheap.

The location is somewhat convenient for nearby stores, but I wouldn't stay here again. The website was misleading about the facilities: there's no swimming pool, and while there is a gym on the top floor, it's open with no closure. When I went up to look, an employee was smoking outside and none of the treadmills worked. The gym is there, but it isn't really usable, which was a letdown. I raised this with the front desk and got only a “sorry,” not the response I expected from a hotel calling itself “a 5-star hotel.” I wasn't asking for anything free, just a better response.

The lobby looks nice, but the rooms are very old. Ours smelled bad, maybe from the air conditioning or the carpet, and had lots of mosquitoes. It didn't feel family-friendly either: two adult KTVs are next door, and at night there were a lot of indecent men and women walking around outside, which made the area feel unsafe.
