Persimmon Hotel

The only real plus is how close it is to the attraction sites, though I'm sure there are better places nearby. For this price, you can find plenty of clean hotels with decent quality. This was by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. There were loads of stains on the walls, and the floor was so dirty I couldn't walk on it barefoot. The bathroom hygiene was awful, and the room smelled as if heavy smokers had been puffing right in front of me. Cleanliness is the most basic thing a hotel room should manage, and they couldn't even do that.

It's in a good location and the price is affordable, but the photos are nowhere near the truth. The room was old, pretty dirty, smelled of cigarettes, and had ugly decor. Soundproofing was really poor. I could hear the neighbors across from my room talking through the night, and the front desk was quite rude. I'd look for another hotel nearby.

Like the other reviews say, DO NOT GO HERE. The front desk girl was rude. I booked three nights for my family, but they complained that the bathroom was dirty, the towels were hanging on rusty, filthy holders, and the bedding was dirty and smelled of cigarettes. The kids didn't want to stay another minute. I didn't want to make a fuss, so I asked the receptionist if I could go into their room to get something. Really, I just wanted to see if it was as bad as they said. She told me I'd have to pay 300ntd if I stayed more than 10 minutes. I dropped the idea of checking the room, checked my family out right then, and moved them to another hotel.

The building is a bit old, but the bright, fresh paint makes it look cheerful. My windowless room was large, clean, and bright from the good electric lighting. It was quiet at night, and I slept well in the big, comfortable bed, which thankfully wasn't too soft. The price was very good, and breakfast was included, with both Taiwanese and continental options. They also have a good coffee machine.
