Alien B&B

Our room was huge, and the location is right in the center. The hosts were kind, funny, and able to chat with us in English. They even worked breakfast around our schedule, and it was a generous serving. We had a great stay and would come back!

We really enjoyed staying here. The hosts are warm and enthusiastic, breakfast tastes great, and the rooms are roomy with beds that are very comfortable.

I rode my motorcycle from Taoyuan at 4:30 AM, heading west and back, with a Hualien travel subsidy helping make the trip possible. I reached Elion that evening. My cycling companion and I had booked the whole room, since it was a weekday after the serious damage from the 4:03 earthquake and typhoon. We slept upstairs on the second floor. There was plenty of room, with a large and a small bed, bathroom, living area, sofa, and TV. It felt like home, and was much bigger than a typical B&B room, which is often only about two-thirds full. The bathroom's organic soapberry wash had a lovely light citrus scent. Upstairs there was also a kitchen stocked with cookies, tea bags, coffee, and other things for a quick snack. Downstairs, the bar and lounge were a nice place to eat, drink, and chat with a few friends. The hostess was welcoming, and the young boss made an excellent breakfast. I hope to stay here again.
