The owners were extremely friendly and communicated well. Sometimes their young son helped out, and he speaks really good English! The beds were comfortable, with a very nice firm mattress, and the shower had good water pressure. The room was spacious and clean, though the interior wasn't anything special. The guesthouse is conveniently located not too far from the train station. I'm taking off one star because some guests were completely drunk and noisy one night, well past midnight. The house rules say not to disturb other people after 10pm, but they don't seem to be enforced.

We stayed on the third floor. The bathroom was just the right size, and the shower gel and shampoo felt nice and smelled great. Bring your own conditioner. There was water, small and large towels, and a little push-button hair dryer on the table. No toothbrush, toothpaste, hair ties, or long hair wigs, so bring your own. The place was clean inside, though the entrance under the arcade is easy to miss. It costs under NT$2000 and is less than a 10-minute walk from the station. The owners are very particular about keeping things tidy. You change into slippers when you enter the lobby, and the padded slippers were comfortable. Outdoor shoes and slippers go in separate lockers. Please help keep the place clean. That really touched me, since few hotels care about indoor slippers. There's a shared refrigerator and a chat area on the second floor. Sound carries. I could hear doors opening and closing in the morning, but it didn't bother me. I was so tired when I got back at night that I just collapsed. The most touching thing was the hostess's kindness. We checked out on the evening of September 28th and were meant to return on September 29th. She still let us come back for our luggage and a shower. She noticed our muddy rain boots and sweaty faces and asked if we wanted to shower. We knew she was making an exception, and the offer alone meant so much. Thank you, and I hope your business continues to do well! 🥹 We didn't explain our purpose, so we paid the usual full tour fee. Hualien has had a hard year with earthquakes and floods, and the accommodation industry is hoping to thrive despite it all. We're open to discounts or other arrangements. We just hope Hualien and Guangfu will be better off! 🛵 Getting around: The train station is under 10 minutes away. WeMo shared scooters are available, but there are only 4-5 at Hualien Station. The number may change in the app, so check there for the most accurate info. Think it through, since they're very popular. From Hualien Station, MOS Burger, McDonald's, and National Taipei University of Business are a 15-20 minute walk. No GoShare or Irent. 🍺 Food: The whole street is lined with late-night food places, including 7-Eleven, Cosmed, hot pot, drink shops, fried chicken, dumplings, and seafood. Some restaurants stay open from 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM, so the area is lively.

I was due to volunteer in disaster relief on September 28th, but train tickets were hard to book, so I came to Hualien on September 27th and stayed overnight. When the guesthouse owner heard I was volunteering, they immediately offered to waive my room fee! The room was comfortable and the owner was kind. I highly recommend this guesthouse. I believe Taiwan will keep getting better! 👍

The owner was very friendly, and there were plenty of convenient places to eat nearby. Once we got to the second floor, the shared areas and rooms were all clean. Our room was quite large, comfortable, and quiet.

On my first day in Hualien, the landlady came around with me, and we even went to Dongdamen Night Market until 9 pm! She was considerate, gentle, beautiful, and generous. The room was spacious and clean, with an outside balcony where you could dry clothes during a longer stay. Photos
