Happy 88568 B&B

We were lucky to have the whole building to ourselves. The facilities were a little dated, but the living room, bedrooms, and even the stairwell were spotless. Our five-person room had plenty of space, and the comforters and pillows were great. There was a bathtub and, conveniently, a toilet on the first floor too. Breakfast came in a few set-menu options. It wasn't the fruit set shown in the photos, but the portions were generous and everything tasted good. I almost asked the owner which restaurant it came from. Tamura Sushi, which the owner recommended, was also delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. We couldn't figure out the room TV and had to ask the owner to come over in the middle of the night. They were very kind and went out of their way to help. The owner was friendly and chatty throughout. The stay felt warm and comfortable, like home, and I'd definitely return if I'm in Hualien City again.

The owner was really nice. There were three of us and we'd booked a four-person room, but since we were the only guests that day, the owner put us in a five-person room so each of us could have a bed. Dongdamen Night Market is nearby, about a five to ten minute ride away.

We booked the whole building for two nights, which worked perfectly for a laid-back trip with my parents and kids. We didn't have to worry about bothering other guests, and the kids loved the internet TV. The place is in a quiet alley, and everyone slept well on the comfortable pillows and bedding. The amenities were standard. The bathroom in the five-person room was bigger than in the other room types, and having another toilet on the first floor was handy. The owner was very nice, explained how things worked, and prepared a nutritious breakfast.
