The staff were helpful and very nice, and breakfast was tasty with optional top-ups. It’s a cosy Hualien hotel a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. Rooms have big beds and roomy bathrooms, with air conditioning and several windows that make for good sleeping conditions.

The B&B went out of its way to mail an item we’d left behind to our hotel in Taipei the next afternoon, which was great service. It’s a lovely little place a few minutes from both the train station and bus station, where we caught transport to walk around taroko Gorge. Our room was spacious and clean, the hotel had quirky decor, and breakfast was good each morning.

The staff were incredibly helpful, and the train station is only a few minutes away on foot. This was the best hotel I stayed at in Taiwan, a real gem.
