There’s no reception desk. Check-in is with the staff at the restaurant next to the hotel entrance. My room on the third floor was small but tidy and clean, and there’s no elevator. I got a breakfast coupon at check-in and could pick up breakfast at the restaurant downstairs.

The landlord was very nice and gave us a discount. The location made it easy to get around, and it worked really well for our group of international travelers. There’s no elevator, though. See you again next time.

I didn’t expect much since the price was cheap, but the room smelled musty and the tables and chairs were dirty. The shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom were empty, and there was no hairdryer. I reported it, and they said they’d tell a colleague to refill them. When I came back that night, the room key had been taken out, so someone had clearly entered, but the problems were still there. Neither the toiletries nor a hairdryer had been provided. This guesthouse was so bad it should be shut down.

The owner was friendly, and when the TV in our original room stopped working, they moved us to another room right away. They also gave us a $50 breakfast voucher. The next day we ate at a nearby breakfast shop, where the varied menu had both Chinese and Western choices. We thought the food was quite good, and would definitely consider staying again. I’d recommend it to travelers looking for the same kind of stay. The room was clean and comfortable, suitable if you don’t have special requirements. At check-in, they checked that the TV and bathroom fixtures were working. Motorcycle parking is available downstairs.
