You can hear other guests talking at night because the sound insulation is poor. It feels a little pricey for what you get.

The guesthouse was spotless, and the owners were so welcoming. The steamed buns and pork chop breakfast place next door is fantastic, definitely worth trying.

That cat was adorable, and the garden was full of staghorn ferns. I also loved how clean and comfortable the white Rococo-style room was, with a balcony for fresh air even though it rained later. I arrived early after switching to the train instead of driving because I was unsure about the traffic. The owner kindly stored my bags and carried them inside. The hostess was lovely too, even though I'd called the night before to ask about changing rooms. I'd happily recommend staying here in Lyon!

The neighborhood around the guesthouse is peaceful, and the rooms felt clean and comfortable, like being at home. It's good value, and I'd gladly stay again on another trip to Hualien. It's outside downtown, but I still highly recommend it.
