Ten Minute To Go B&B

The location was difficult for parking at night. Daytime spaces were fairly easy to find, but later most were taken and we had to park on the next street. I don’t understand the reviews saying parking was easy. The one space at the house was being used by guests from a different house next door. When we raised it with the owner, he didn’t seem to care. As a paying guest, I felt unimportant. Room cleaning was barely done, basically just sweeping. There was a thick layer of dust behind the TV, and when I turned it on, big clumps stuck to my hands or dropped on the floor. A cleaner came daily, but only took the toilet trash. The full bin in the room was left, the bed wasn’t made, and towels weren’t folded or changed. I honestly don’t know what the cleaner was doing. The room idea is unusual, and I rented the top room with the view and hot tub that appears in most of the photos. But the owner’s neglect let it down badly. The bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. It felt so old or broken that I could feel every spring, and I ended up sleeping on the wooden floor. The tub has two sections, presumably to save water when one person uses it. It’s small already, and the divider was annoying. The hard, sharp corners on the tub finishes dug into me when I leaned on the sides. Water only passes from the smaller side to the larger one through a golf ball sized hole, so the hot water spread unevenly and it took ages to fill. In the end, I barely used it. It looks good in photos but isn’t practical. A big curtain separates the tub and window area from the bed. Having to pull it closed whenever I changed or wanted privacy got annoying. In the morning, light came through above it even when it was shut, and the TV sits where the curtain is supposed to close, so I couldn’t properly block out light. I’d suggest adding curtains to the windows. When you leave the shower or use the tub, the open windows leave you exposed to the world outside. The shower is beside the hot tub. Its head holder points the water straight at the door, so I had to hold the shower head myself, which was a pain. The shower floor and walls badly need scrubbing. There was dirt and mold buildup, and it felt as if they hadn’t been properly cleaned for years. It was disgusting. And at night especially, stepping out of the shower meant being visible through the open windows, which I really disliked. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The room has a unique concept, but there are too many problems that come from the owner not taking care of it. I hope he makes major improvements to the rooms and service.
