A very nice place to stay, with kind and friendly owners and staff. The breakfast is both healthy and delicious.

The owners were great, and the rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast in the morning was great too.

The owners have lots of rules and restrictions and can be very long-winded. They seem to live in their own world, and staying here felt like I was constantly bothering them. I came to travel, not to be tortured. The room itself was large and nice, with a dreamy look and a spacious balcony with a comfortable-looking seat. The house has a castle-like feel, with stylish decor and a gazebo outside. But you can’t open the balcony door to sit out and enjoy the view, because the screen door is locked. I have no idea why. The owner has to open the door for you, since it can’t be opened from outside, so you have to notify them however late you’ll be or if your plans change. You’re not allowed to eat or drink in the room. The pretty kitchen is only for show and can’t be used. The supposedly elegant water bottles are a nuisance, and there’s no dispenser. In Penghu’s weather, sometimes you just want warm water, but there isn’t any hot water. This morning there was no hot water for the shower either! The owner personally opened the wooden entrance door when we arrived, which at first seemed nice, but it felt like the start of a “disaster.” They may be happy living in their own world, but surely a water dispenser isn’t expensive. What are they trying to save on? I strongly feel this detached, otherworldly approach doesn’t suit running a guesthouse. They should just enjoy retirement. Please don’t run a guesthouse and torture your guests.

The owners were friendly, and that’s the only reason I’m giving one star. The rooms are small, there’s no toothbrush or toothpaste, the soundproofing is poor, and the room door is extremely difficult to lock. We stayed two nights. On the second night, my shower gel ran out while I was showering. I’d only used it once the day before, so it’s unbelievable they didn’t check before letting guests check in. Really careless 😑. There was no breakfast, and guests are expected to turn off the air conditioning when they leave the room. When we got back around midnight, the main door was locked and I had to call them to open it. I’ve never encountered that before. It’s ridiculous for a hotel or guesthouse to lock the door at night 🙄🙄. Highly unrecommended. One star is already generous.
