RUN aWAY Guesthouse

RUN aWAY guesthouse was quiet, spacious, spotless, and fully equipped. It's roughly 10 minutes from downtown Magong. Chris was incredibly hospitable and picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. We had a fantastic stay and would gladly return. Highly recommended.

Chris was the best part of our stay. He was always available, arranged our car rental ahead of the trip, handled the rental with us, and drove us to and from the airport. He also helped me order a birthday cake in Taipei as a surprise for my SO. He gave us all the information we needed for duty-free shopping, too. I hadn't realized you could buy duty-free goods when flying to Penghu from Taiwan, which was especially nice since COVID-19 had wiped out my plans to travel abroad anytime soon. He really told us everything Penghu has to offer. The first floor has a living room and kitchen area with a coffee machine, plates, utensils, a microwave, a toaster oven, and a fridge for guests. We used it for the many leftovers we collected during our trip. They don't provide toothbrushes, combs, or toothpaste because the owners are trying to be eco-friendly. Since Penghu's trash gets ferried back to Taiwan proper, they feel it doesn't make sense to throw out a toothbrush only for it to travel back to the main island. There are about six rooms, each themed after a different country Chris has visited. We stayed in the CDG room. It was spacious, with a TV, a large couch, and a balcony overlooking the airport. The beds were comfortable, and the whole place was clean. I stayed from March 26 to 28, 2002, and was very pleased. The guesthouse is a bit away from the city, but the center is at most 11 minutes away by car or scooter. If you want a taxi, the locals have partner services you can call. I had a great time and will be back.

Looking through the photos on my phone brought all those good memories back at once. I'd never been a guesthouse or B&B person, so staying here was a first for me on this beautiful island outside Taiwan. The owner is passionate and thoughtful. Since I didn't know PengHu, he guided me through things step by step, from opening the door to turning the AC on and off. The house is about 10 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Makong town centre. He picked us up for free, right on time, and we chatted like old friends on the way, which made me feel relaxed and comfortable. He loves traveling, and the place is themed around the cities he likes best, with an international airport concept. Cozy room, reasonable rate, great hospitality. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend Chris. He's not only absolutely good looking, he's a very nice host too.

A beautiful B&B with a lovely view and an airplane flight theme. The room was serene and delicate, and it was fun watching planes take off. The furniture and decor were well designed. They use eco-friendly, organic Greenvines shower gel and shampoo. The host was handsome, sweet, and very hospitable!
