Zai Yan-Yan B&B

The room was spacious and the beds were really comfortable, making this a great place to stay. The shower pressure was weak, though, and the breakfast could be better compared with other similar places.

The first thing that struck me when we entered our mountain-view room in the evening was all the antiques and furnishings. The style felt calm without being overly styled, and truly Thai! The room was a full 10 pings (150 square meters), with a king-size bed that felt like a luxury for one person. The berth was incredibly large and the windows were huge, so I was looking forward to the view in the morning. Having an elevator at the guesthouse was a big plus too. We went out for dinner, but surprisingly, lots of places were closed even though it was only a little after 7 p.m. We finally asked the hostess for help and found a nearby chicken chop place that was still open. Back in the room, we discovered a fridge full of free drinks, which was so touching and went perfectly with dinner. After showering, I noticed the hair dryer was a Panasonic. It dried my hair so fast, and I already have one! I slept better than I ever have away from home. The bed was absolutely amazing, and the view when I woke up was breathtaking. I wanted to stay in the room! Ji'an is uniquely located close to both the mountains and the sea. Breakfast was handmade by the hostess, and sitting downstairs, looking out at the courtyard, was truly relaxing. The rooftop has a great view and seating where you can enjoy the scenery. It's a lovely spot to bring snacks and unwind in the afternoon. The whole place is so comfortable that you could spend all day at the B&B. During my three days and two nights in Ji'an, it rained in the mountains during the day while the beach was sunny. The beach was only about ten minutes from the B&B, and I even managed to sneak in a photo of it at the end! Zai Yanyan also offers a free Thai dress experience. Ladies, you have to try it! Apparently there are four or five outfits to choose from, while men only have one. The hostess picked my outfit, and there was loads of matching jewelry. Photos look great anywhere in the B&B, but even better in the room, so choosing a style that suits your room is important if you want to try a Thai dress! Breakfast is only included if you book through the official website, so I highly recommend taking your time over breakfast at the B&B before setting off. The coffee machine and tea bags on the first floor are free to use. I went back and forth with the hostess quite a bit before booking, and she was so patient. Thank you, Zai Yanyan, for making my first solo trip safe and enjoyable!
