It’s quiet here, away from noisy areas, while still being close to Jiaoxi’s main attractions. Online reviews give you a fair sense of what to expect: the facilities are quite old, the top floor is an extension, rooms have only a bed, and the hot spring tub has no window. There’s no elevator, and payment is cash only. The biggest plus is the affordable price, which could suit people cycling around the island or anyone watching their budget.

The room layout is decent, and the hot spring water is there. The landlady is very friendly. It’s an old-style inn that’s good on price, suited to backpackers or solo travelers wanting to relax in a hot spring inn. The rules suggest the owner is trying to address earlier reviews, though there are still quite a few limitations. Facilities are limited, and the bed is quite hard. There’s a hot water bottle but no mugs or anything similar, which I found unacceptable. If you stay here, bring at least some light travel gear of your own. If you can get past those limitations...

The bathroom had a tub, hot water, and good pressure, but the rest of the room was disappointing. The air conditioner was really dirty and smelled musty, the bed had an odd odor, and the room didn’t feel clean. The shower gel was nearly gone and seemed to have been topped up with water.

The location was convenient, and they were willing to keep the belongings I’d left behind safe. I checked out early and couldn’t get through by phone until after 10 AM, though. I stayed on the fifth floor at the end of December, and there’s no elevator.

The train station is a bit of a journey away, but the walk wasn’t a burden and gave me a chance to take in the scenery. The hotel itself is older, and its facilities and decor don’t match what newer places offer. What made the stay feel welcoming was the warm, thoughtful service. Good service really does speak for itself.
