I got a warm welcome with smiles and laughs, and the trip from Taipei to Yilan stopped feeling exhausting in no time. The house is beautiful, and opening the balcony door reveals a mesmerizing view. Breakfast while watching the birds and mountains was lovely, such a peaceful feeling you don't often get in a big city. My room was clean, very nice, and convenient, with a really large hot tub. The place is only 750 meters from the bus stop and close to both Family Mart and Seven Eleven. If you enjoy hiking, the Host recommended a trail to me, and it turned out to be the highlight of my Yilan trip. The host was so kind, carried my luggage upstairs, and helped plan my trip so I wouldn't miss anything. He also took me to the train station when I wanted to go to Taipingshan, then back to the bus station for my return to Taipei. He understood that as a Muslim I have food restrictions, and made sure I got vegetarian food. This B&B is full of warmth, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Yilan.

The host was so kind and attentive that I liked the place enough to book another stay for the end of my trip. I’ll definitely come back. Room 201 was even nicer than the photos, with plenty of space, a comfortable bed, and everything so clean you could practically eat off the floor. The whole house feels cozy and beautiful. I loved walking through the rice fields nearby. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk into town, or around $120 NTD for a five-minute taxi ride. There’s also a waterfall, restaurants, and convenience stores about five minutes away on foot. This ended up being my favorite place to stay during my Taiwan trip.

This time I brought my grown-up children to stay at Matsuda in the countryside, and the owner enthusiastically suggested itineraries that helped us have a great time. The rooms were still tidy and clean, with lots of space. Years ago, I stayed at Matsuda B&B in the city with my children and remembered how gentle and polite the owner was. I’d definitely choose Matsuda B&B again when I visit Yilan.
