Chen’s Courtyard Guesthouse(Chen Jia Yuan Li)

This is a renovated site that's a hundred years old, with vintage wooden details like the handles and locks. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, and the spacious rooms had everything we needed. Breakfast changed each day, and on our way out they gave us several thoughtfully designed souvenirs. Their homemade plum juice was delicious, and they were generous with the offerings. You have to experience the local hospitality for yourself.

It's a different kind of old house from others in Kinmen. The room was well kept, and whenever something came up, I could easily talk to the owner. The service felt warm and considerate, like dealing with a friend. I'd definitely come back if I visit Kinmen again.

Our first family trip to Kinmen was a wonderful three days and two nights. We came hoping to experience the traditional houses and local way of life, and the host warmly welcomed us, shared helpful tips, and told us about everything Kinmen has to offer. We also heard the exciting news that a second branch will open soon! Next time we're in Kinmen, we'll choose "Chen Jia Yuan Li" again. The host family is so welcoming, and we highly recommend it. ☺️🥰❤️❤️

The breakfast was a treat each morning during our four days and three nights. The owner prepared filling Kinmen favorites, including fried salted rice cakes, Fujian-style sesame cakes, peanut red rice cakes, pork pies, fried dough sticks, Fujian-style salty porridge, and Cantonese porridge. On arrival we were welcomed with savory pastries and chrysanthemum tea, and the owner even helped us review our itinerary. On the last day we rode electric bikes around the area, and the owner drove my family to the airport. We stayed in a family room with an extra bed, and the four of us loved having a bathtub for the kids to soak in. The B&B has modern comforts alongside the beauty of traditional Fujian architecture. Its courtyard and hanging chairs give it a Southeast Asian feel that still fits the place. My family and I were visiting Kinmen for the first time, and we were so happy to stay at Chen Jia Yuan Li. Thanks so much. It felt like an old friend was welcoming us home, and I'd highly recommend it.
