Some of the houses have been kept in good shape, and you can still see the handmade details on the walls and doors. Worth a visit. I'd like to try staying at the guesthouse next time.

You can go up for a view of the whole village, though getting to the top takes about 10 minutes. This was the first place I visited on Kinmen Island. There isn't a lot to do, but I enjoyed it. If you like taking photos of old houses, it's one to visit.

It’s a pleasant area for a stroll and some photos, and most of the houses are well preserved. I gather some are used as homestays. There’s no marked parking area, though there’s enough room to park.

We went in the middle of the day and not one place was open. It felt like a zombie apocalypse had hit. Still, it was interesting.

The local temple is especially picturesque, and there are some lovely examples of Minnan-style architecture that you don't see elsewhere. A lot of buildings are in disrepair, though, and there's not much to do beyond looking around.
