Shang Her Yuan B&B

I’d give it a perfect 100, especially for a first visit to Kinmen. The landlady was friendly, served an excellent breakfast, and helped me with travel information. Then, after I reached the airport, I realized I’d left my phone and charger at the guesthouse. I called her, and she immediately rode her scooter over to bring them to me. I was incredibly grateful. Shangheyuan Guesthouse is affordable, very clean, and has a fantastic breakfast. I highly recommend it.

This was our third guesthouse on our first trip to Kinmen, and we were both really happy with it. The place was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and the landlady was warm and friendly. She prepared a generous breakfast and suggested attractions, including the "Shouting Spring," which we hadn’t planned to visit but found interesting. She also checked in the next day to ask if anything had been a problem.

We come back every May and November, and the breakfast is always thoughtfully tailored to what we need. For bird photographers like us, she has even brought breakfast to a nearby birdwatching spot. She patiently explains local customs and recommends must-see attractions, including for birdwatchers. From arranging transportation to the rest of the service, everything is handled flawlessly. Her friendly welcome and outstanding hospitality are why we’re happy to recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Kinmen.

The owner is friendly and helpful, and will do her best to answer questions. She asks whether you’ve planned your itinerary and shares lots of travel information to consider. Breakfast has different choices each day. The location is convenient, with duty-free shops, McDonald's, Starbucks, Taihu Lake, and Zhongzheng Park nearby. The room was clean and a reasonable size.
