We are two senior adults, and Mr Nicky, Mr Karson, and Ms Lala made our day. They listened closely to what we needed and even wanted, then came up with great solutions and alternatives for both big and small problems. They helped make our trips between Taiwan and Japan, and back to Kaohsiung Holiday Inn Express Love River, comfortable and much less of a hassle with our belongings. We've belonged to other hotel groups, but IHG Group stood out for service and sincerity across food, room comfort, amenities, laundry, location, and especially the thoughtful customer care from these three staff members. The Level 2 F&B team deserves praise too. The breakfast had a different menu each day, plenty of variety, and excellent taste, texture, freshness, quality, and quantity. You could tell the food was prepared with care. Even though it was included in our stay, it was the best breakfast we've had, beating meals at paid and complimentary breakfasts in five-, four-, and three-star hotels over many years of travel in the USA, UK, Europe, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, eastern and western Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China, HK, Macau, S Korea, other parts of Taiwan, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The room was comfortable and quiet, and I liked having a bathtub. Both the Eastern and Western breakfast options were good. A Metro station is only about a three-minute walk away.

The room was spotless and comfortable, and the reception and service were great. Breakfast had plenty of quality Eastern and Western choices. The location is good too. I highly recommend this hotel, especially compared with the poor experience I had at Crown Plaza Copenhagen a few months ago.

The staff were the cherry on top. Tina and Iris were especially friendly and accommodating, always ready to help. I expected the usual Holiday Inn Express feel, but the room and bathroom seemed a step above it. The fixtures looked good, and the place felt like a higher-standard hotel. Breakfast exceeded what I usually expect from Holiday Inn Express too. There was Starbucks coffee, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, fresh fruit juice, truffle potatoes, and really good xiao long bao. I ate eight of them. The lobby's free coffee and milk tea were good quality as well, and I kept going back for more. I also returned three times for the complimentary crackers.

We came in summer, when Kaohsiung was pretty hot, and umbrellas were available in the lobby to borrow for going out. The staff were friendly, and they also had free refreshments and light snacks in the lobby. The rooms were spacious and kept clean. I especially liked being so close to the famous Love River and Pier 2 Art Center.
