The check-in kiosk was easy to use, and I had my key in under five minutes. This is a sub-brand of the long-established "Great HiLai Hotel" and uses the same entrance, which confused me at first. My room was in good shape, with a nice city view. The window was dirty after the recent heavy rain in Kaohsiung, but that didn't bother me. The amenities and equipment were all there. For a business trip or short stay, the rate and location felt just right. One thing did bother me at night: switching off the room light also cut the power supply, so I couldn't charge anything. Maybe it was a safety feature, or maybe I just couldn't find the outlet. I had to leave the hallway light on, which isn't really a night light, and sleep with the room bright.

A robot guided me to my room, which was a fun touch. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with a soft mattress, helpful staff, and great service. There's a lounge, lots of restaurants, and a gigantic mall right underneath the hotel. Ladies will love that mall.

Hi Lai EZ Stay is a very good option if you want a good hotel for an overnight stay without the hotel facilities. The breakfast is very simple, just coffee, tea, eggs, rice, and bread.
