The sheets were a bit dirty, and the bathtub was dirty and leaking. There was no shower curtain or hand soap, and the toilet leaked enough that the bathroom floor got wet after a couple of flushes. I pushed the room key into its holder a little too hard by accident, and it nearly came off the wall. The staff were nice.

The reception has a cosy spot to relax and chat, and I really liked the atmosphere and the staff. It's a family-oriented hotel. Manager Wang and the team are very service-minded, friendly, and helpful. I was happy to get such warm service from intern Kuok Yi Tong.

We chose this hotel for our trip to Kaohsiung city to see the maroon five concert, and the location made getting around easy. Shops, restaurants, tourist sights, taxis, and public transportation are all close by. The riverfront view from the pagoda pavilion was stunning, especially at sunset. My girlfriend and I had a pleasant stay at Hua Xiang Hotel. The room was comfortable, with a good temperature, soft but supportive pillows, and a bed I slept well in. It was quiet inside despite the busy area, and the free Wi-Fi worked throughout the hotel. Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of buffet choices. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The place has a calm, modern feel and stylish interiors, though it's comfortable and sophisticated rather than luxurious. The lobby is spacious with plenty of seating. I'd recommend it for a visit to the city. The elevator service could be improved.
