Lees Boutique Hotel

This was the worst hotel of my Taiwan trip. The rooms were very dated and badly in need of an update, and the toilet was rusty. In the second room I booked for my mother, the toilet didn’t work; she had to ask staff twice before anyone came to fix it. There’s no gym or laundry service, and the facilities overall are seriously lacking. I’ve stayed in three-star Kaohsiung hotels that were much better.

We’ll definitely stay again if we come back to Kaohsiung. The breakfast was excellent, the front desk staff were helpful, and the room was clean and a decent size. The location worked well for us: Family Mart and 7-11 are a few minutes’ walk away, there’s a bus stop right outside, a city park about five minutes away, and plenty of restaurants nearby. A five-star hotel at a very reasonable price.

The room was huge, easily big enough for two people and our luggage, and the bathroom was clean. The area was quiet, and it’s close to the subway and bus stop. Still, the facilities feel dated: there’s no smart TV with OTT apps and no outlets beside the bed, so you need an extension cord or have to plug in on the floor. The toilet flush is weak, and the hotel told me that was normal. An elegant place with a great location, but short on modern conveniences.

The rooms are bigger than I expected, with roomy bathrooms too. It’s a little over 10 minutes from the other bus stops or train stations, but there’s a laundromat right beside the hotel, which is handy. Pretty good overall.
