1/27/25 The staff are polite and really nice, and the location and prices are good. But this is a very bare-bones place. The hotel is old, sound carries between rooms, and water from the shower spreads across the floor. Breakfast is basic, and even during the "holidays" it didn't look appetizing. They won't replace towels, clean the room, or take away the trash unless you ask for fresh towels and new trash bags. We left our rubbish outside the door. You get what you pay for. If money is tight, you could consider staying here, but for comfort I'd go somewhere else.

The location was the biggest plus for us: about two minutes on foot from Kaohsiung Main Station, with two bus stops out front, plenty of shops and restaurants around, and two 7-Eleven stores across the street. We spent five nights in rooms 1308 and 1302. Room 1308 had more space and a larger window, while 1302 had a bathtub but felt smaller because of the wall beside it. The staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful, and did their best despite the language barrier since we don't speak Mandarin. Our room was cleaned, with bedding and towels changed without us asking. It was generally clean, though I spotted dust under the bed and on top of cabinets. The bathroom was spotless. WiFi was decent: YouTube buffered now and then, but I could work remotely without major trouble. There were a few drawbacks. The hotel is dated, with an '80s feel. Breakfast was the same for three days, then the buffet stopped, probably because we were the only guests left, and they brought breakfast from a nearby eatery instead. Laundry cost 50 NTD, and guests aren't allowed to wash their own clothes. The staff member handling mine didn't seem to care much, tossing everything into the washer and dryer and leaving it partly wet and not properly done. I'd still recommend the place for its affordable price and great location. I'd read some of the other reviews, but we didn't run into the problems some guests described.

The women I met at the check-in desk were all polite and lovely, and they were the only good part of this hotel. There were bedbugs in our room, and after the first night we had several bites. We kept itching for the rest of our trip in Taiwan.

The room was filthy. There was a puddle under the sink, bugs crawling beneath the bed covers, and hair on the bath towels. It seemed like little or no cleaning happens between guests. The walls also do a poor job of blocking sound, so you can hear every word from next door. The front desk staff were friendly, and the location is convenient, just a two-minute walk from Kaohsiung Main Station. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, and with an EasyCard you can take a YouBike around Kaohsiung. For the price it sounds like a good deal, but those problems made it not worth it. I'd pay more for a better room and a decent night's sleep, or just book an Airbnb.

The reviews had me worried before we arrived. They all said not to come, and since I'd already booked one room for five people, I nearly switched hotels. But our room and the hotel were actually pretty good. It was clean, and so was the bathroom, despite the comments about dirt and bad smells. The room was small for five, and there wasn't really space to open our luggage. Still, we were only in Kaohsiung for two days and spent most of the time out exploring, so it worked for us. The staff were the best part. One man, who's heavyset and kind of bald, was incredibly nice. I asked for extra towels at night and he brought them over cheerfully. The staff didn't mind me taking lots of candy either! Breakfast was tasty enough, especially if you get up around 7 while everything is still hot. For the cheap price, I'd rate it 7.5/10. Thanks so much to the kind staff, love it! 💗💗🙏
