Non Lai Inn

Around 1:30am, the guest next door was walking heavily and making so much noise moving around that I could hear everything from my room. It was very hard to rest. The room itself was also misleading. I booked a single room whose listing clearly said it had air conditioning, but there was no air conditioner or even a fan inside. The only ventilation came from a corridor fan that supposedly pushed in centralized air conditioning. In Kaohsiung’s hot, humid weather in the middle of August, the room was extremely uncomfortable. I felt cheated by the listing and had a very unpleasant stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place. With that budget, you can definitely get a better stay.

The staff handled a problem with another guest swiftly and correctly. My bad experience was because of that person, not the facilities or staff. The place itself is comfortable and has nice amenities.

Just stayed one night, and it was a wonderful place. The large bath house is a real plus.

The free sauna and hot and cold water pools really make this hostel stand out. The bath houses do have ventilation and mosquito problems, though, and I hope the hostel sorts those out soon. There aren’t curtains on the individual dorm bunks either. I stayed four nights. It’s close to Kaohsiung Train Station and bus stops for several major routes, and the nightly cost was the lowest I paid in Taiwan. There’s a decent free breakfast, plus vending machines for food and drinks, though no shared kitchen. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and they kept the place very clean.
