Ouge Motel Fengshan

The room was pretty quiet, even though you could clearly hear traffic from the 88 Expressway while showering. We were lucky to get a room without a smoke smell. It was a business room, but it still had a bathtub for the kids. There are four-person rooms available. The main drawbacks were the narrow stairs and lack of an elevator, which made carrying luggage while keeping an eye on a child feel unsafe. The stairs to the third floor are on the other side and don't connect. People with sensitive skin might find the sheets itchy. Otherwise, things were okay.

The shower had a musty smell, and the bed felt a bit dirty and wobbly. There was lint on the carpet, and some things in the closet were dusty. When I checked in last night, nobody clearly told me my room number or gave me a key, so I had to ask an Adidas staff member to bring it over. In the morning, the door lock made a loud bang when I put out breakfast. That was noisy.

The service was quite good on both the morning and evening shifts, and with the windows shut the elevated highway wasn't too loud, apart from the pipework. The business room is in the outdoor parking area and there's no elevator, so bring light luggage. The room was clean, with a bathtub and a separate shower, though the shower space was too small. The hairdryer is fixed inside the bathroom, and the outlet between the pillows felt dangerously close. Breakfast was mediocre: the voucher lets you pick from five things like a burger or omelet, but the contents weren't specified and mine was just minced meat. For something better, you'd have to buy food outside. I was worried about highway noise after reading bad reviews of nearby motels, but I'd consider coming back if I had light bags and skipped breakfast.

The room reeked of cigarette smoke, and even my clothes smelled bad after I opened my suitcase. I wouldn't recommend it if you hate smoke. There's no business desk, so it doesn't work well for business travelers. The bedside table was covered in adult product ads, which also makes it a poor fit for families or anyone with kids. Maybe it suits people who enjoy smoking for fun.
