The facilities are clean and really nice, and it could be a cute hostel with everything you need. There just isn’t much room for luggage in the bedrooms, which seems odd. The staff and lack of hospitality made the stay unpleasant. We arrived 20 minutes before check-in and were told to leave until it was time. They didn’t make us feel welcome, and the only times they spoke to us were to complain. Even sitting in the common area felt tense. Before checkout, we were told we couldn’t use any common-area facilities after checkout time, including the water dispenser and toilet. Hostels are about hospitality and people, so I think these policies will backfire in the long run. I hope they reflect on it.

The curtains were nice, and cleanliness seemed okay, but I’d choose another hostel next time. Taiwanese people were among the friendliest and most hospitable I met while traveling in Asia, but the reception staff here were not friendly at all and treated guests like a nuisance. After checkout, they wouldn’t let us use the toilet, even though it’s attached to reception. That felt inhospitable to people who have paid to stay. I’d understand if the bathrooms were inside the rooms, but they’re in the common area, and you have to walk through the whole hostel to shower or use the toilet at night. I’d rather stay somewhere with friendlier staff who understand hospitality.

The staff deserve a special mention, they were incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms, showers and toilets were spotless, and the beds were large and really comfortable. It’s close to an MRT station with a direct connection to the HSR and main station, and there’s a convenience store and nightmarket nearby. My favourite stay of the whole trip. I’d happily come back.

This didn’t feel like a backpacker-friendly hostel. The lobby rules are strange: you can’t go in before check-in time. If you’re looking for a good vibe, you won’t find it here. Don’t expect too much.

This feels far more comfortable than budget travel usually does, with free-flowing hot and cold water, fizzy drinks, and towels available. The capsule is roomy, stays quiet when I move around, and comes with two plugs plus two USB outlets. The spacious personal locker uses a digital key too, like everything else here. Laundry is on site for a reasonable price, and the appliances are all major brands. You can tell they invested a lot in the place. For value and comfort, it can rival some five-star hotels. Six-star hostel, really.
