THE AMNIS, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kaohsiung

I’ve stayed at top hotels around the world, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this level of international luxury back in my hometown. The service at The Amnis impressed me, especially the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Breakfast also includes local choices that show off the richness of the cuisine here. I’d definitely recommend staying.

I booked a city-view Jr. suite for my wife and me, and it was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby, and the bathroom felt like a private spa, with a deep soaking tub and high-quality amenities. The lighting, Bluetooth speaker, Nespresso machine, and lovely tea set all felt thoughtfully chosen. The lobby and restaurant never felt crowded, and I often saw 2-4 staff nearby. That level of staff presence is unlike anything I’ve experienced at another Bonvoy Luxury Collection property, and it made the facilities feel exclusive. The design is elegant but warm, with water-inspired details that create a calm mood. Every team member we met helped make the stay feel special. I usually stay at the Marriott Kaohsiung when visiting family in southern Taiwan, but I’m glad I switched after The Amnis joined Bonvoy’s luxury collection in early 2025. It’s one of my best hotel experiences among the Bonvoy hotels I’ve stayed at in Taiwan. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help. They also shared useful local tips. A few people deserve a mention. Stanley asked where we were headed, then suggested a way to save time and find a better night market. Ian seemed like a senior staff member and did a fantastic job guiding the team to make the experience feel especially VIP. Tina Tu took extra time with my questions and arranged to ship my extra luggage back to Taipei, since I was flying to Kinmen Island directly from KHH. She followed through on every promise and made me feel secure handing my belongings to a third-party company. Alice Lee sent a warm follow-up email the same day I checked out to make sure I’d had a pleasant stay. For a luxurious, peaceful escape in Kaohsiung, I can’t recommend The Amnis enough. I love art, design, and world-class hospitality, and I’ll definitely return.

As a Marriott member, I really appreciated getting a complimentary room upgrade. The room was modern, comfortable, and felt luxurious. Breakfast had a huge range of delicious options, and the staff were kind, professional, and glad to help throughout my stay. The service was excellent from beginning to end, and the whole visit was memorable. Highly recommended for a trip to Kaohsiung if you want comfort, good service, and value.

The staff are what make this place feel like home. Everyone I met went out of their way to help, and I’m already planning to return. Tina from the concierge team found me great activities around town, while Jeff, Rex, and Ian shared helpful local knowledge and guidance. Sally, Winnie, and Felix at the front desk were warm and professional. Grace from the jade lounge was wonderfully patient and helpful. At the spa, Emma and Sharon, the lovely sisters, greeted me with joyful smiles, and training with Neo was both fun and educational. The hotel itself is beautiful and comfortable, with a gorgeous suite overlooking the harbor and useful touches like a filtered water faucet. Breakfast was a daily treat, with delicious fresh Western and Taiwanese dishes. I had a flawless stay from start to finish. Thank you to the whole team for making it unforgettable.
