The Tree House

The location is good, and having a washer and dryer available was a plus, but I'd look elsewhere for a better price. The hotel feels old and dated, and the rooms need renovation. Mine wasn't cleaned properly, the walls were dirty, and some areas were in poor shape. WiFi barely worked most of the time. Breakfast looked basic, though we didn't try it.

December 2025. I've travelled for work and personally for 15 years, and this was my worst hotel experience. We booked through Klook at a good rate, then were told that rate meant we had the worst rooms in the property. Check the pictures if you want to see for yourself. Our room's entrance floor was unfinished, and there were cobwebs on the pillars above the bed. There was no toilet door, so bathroom smells and the heat from a hot shower spread into the room. The sink tap was so close to the back and edge of the basin that even washing my hands was difficult. Staff were rude and unfriendly. At check-in, there was a strange noise because a tap hadn't been turned all the way off. Some towels had holes and looked worn. The breakfast dishes were cold, possibly because the warmer wasn't working. Go at 7am sharp if you want a warm meal.

It's easy to get to the MRT and other shops from here, and the place itself is nice. The receptionist was approachable, and since she was Filipina, it was easy to communicate and ask questions. I'd recommend it to tourists staying in Kaohsiung.

The pool was really dirty, and I wouldn't recommend this frustrating hotel. The bathroom sink water was stuck, and there were no toothbrushes provided, so you had to buy one at a pricey rate. The breakfast buffet wasn't good either, just ordinary eggs and canton with an unpleasant taste. We asked for bacon and sausage, but they said none were available. The next day it was the same breakfast again. There was only one coffee option.
