The hotel's location worked well for us: a small local street leads to Keelung's Sankeng train station, about a five-minute walk away. Nanrong Road is nearby, with local bus stops, and the Maritime Plaza is also close. Our first night was badly disrupted by noise from the neighboring room. Around midnight, we heard loud talking, furniture being moved, and banging. We called reception right away and they acknowledged the complaint, but it continued until around 2 a.m. We called a second time and were told someone would handle it. The noise finally stopped around 2:30. We struggled to fall asleep and got only about two hours of sleep that night. When we spoke with the manager the next day, he said staff had called or knocked on the neighbors' door, and that was all they could do. He explained that the hotel's soundproofing wasn't as good as that of high-class hotels. The bigger problem for us was how the long disturbance during quiet hours was handled. This went beyond ordinary hotel noise, and calls or knocking didn't resolve it for hours. The manager's response felt somewhat dismissive and unprofessional. He didn't apologize or offer any compensation, or otherwise acknowledge how badly the night had affected us. Our room had a window that opened, but no screen, so mosquitoes got in when we opened it. Also, when two people shared the bed, one person's movement carried across the mattress whenever they turned over. That lack of motion isolation seriously disturbed the other person's sleep.

Hearing conversations from other rooms was a problem even though my unit was at the far end of the hall. The pillows were much too tall for me, and the front desk said there wasn't a lower option. After four nights, my neck hurt. I also found the blanket uncomfortable: the sheet felt rough, and the filling in the grid-stitched blanket shifted around while I slept. The shower floor was tiled and became so slippery when wet that I worried I'd fall. On the plus side, I got to check in at noon during rainy weather. The room was spacious, modern, and clean, and the workweek price of $32 USD per night was reasonable. They also left free snacks, and the mirror stayed clear during hot showers.

We were a bit unsure about the mediocre Maps rating, but the stay turned out great. The rooms were clean and nice, the windows blocked noise well, and the staff were friendly. We slept really well. It's a perfect spot for exploring Keelung, and we'd happily return.

Inside, it's fresh, cozy, and really well kept, despite the old-looking exterior. We found the place very clean and comfortable, and had a great stay. It's a good choice for a short visit, and we'd book it again.

The outside of the hotel doesn't look like much, but the rooms have been newly renovated. We got a complimentary upgrade, which was a nice bonus. It made for a comfortable short stay while exploring Keelung.
