E-Coast Star Hotel

We stayed four nights, and the room was comfortable and very clean. The bedsheets and towels smelled fresh, and the room was cleaned every day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bus stops, the night market, and Keelung station are all within walking distance.

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was decent, and the staff were friendly. It's quite central, but the rooms smelled of smoke and the floors felt sticky. They were nowhere near as nice as the photos. There are better hotels in Keelung for this price.

We asked at the desk and got a decent price offer. These are mid-priced places, not the absolute cheapest, and with the discounts the front desk offered, most came to between 50-80 per night. The hotel is close to where cruise passengers board. When we left, we walked past Princess Lines. We saw some people upset because the hotel had run out of rooms. There are lots of small hotels nearby, though, so they probably could have found another room within a ten-minute walk. I would have asked the desk to recommend a place and call to check availability, since they know the area best.

The bathroom was okay, though there was a slight musty smell. The beds were decent but, as usual, too short for a European guy. There were condoms in every room, so I'm not sure whether this was one of the so-called love hotels people were talking about.
