The room was cold, with very cold floors in February. The central air blower sent the same cool air whether I selected heat or cool, and they only had heaters running in the hallways. Traffic could still be heard through the windows on the 7th floor. There was a strange mark on my bedsheet, mold around the sink edges, and the bathroom mirror looked like it belonged in the trash. The shower head was mounted in the wrong place, so you had to hold it. I asked for a quiet room so I could sleep, but reception gave me one with a thin wooden door connecting to the next room and no soundproofing at all. The woman at reception with a tattoo and many ear piercings only said “booking ID” and “passport”; kind, gentle words didn’t seem to be in her vocabulary. The room also smelled bad, like a mix of faint cigarette smoke and food, as other guests have mentioned. I won’t stay here again.

I’d just come from Enzo House, another highly rated hotel in the old town, and this place was the opposite of it. If you know Zhong Li, think of JS Hotel at the foot of a bridge in an industrial area, oddly highly rated. There’s not much to write home about.

I stayed here for two nights with my family while traveling to Keelung. Reception was rude. The AC still wasn’t cold after we set it to 17 and complained; they said they’d lower the temperature, but hours later we were still hot. Cleaning staff talked loudly every morning and disturbed our sleep. The towels had yellow and black marks, and the toothbrush cup had white stains, which felt unhygienic. The WiFi REALLY sucks :) Every other hotel I stayed at in Taiwan provided slippers, but here they asked us to leave a 5-star review in exchange for them. Isn’t that basically buying stars? It makes the ratings unfair, lol.

Staying here was a good experience. It’s very conveniently located near the night market and shopping district.

One of the cheaper hotels in the area, with an affordable price. The train station is only a short walk away.
