LIGHT INN - Hostel

The owner is lovely and makes a point of introducing herself to guests. The staff were friendly and helpful too.

The night market is easy to get to from here, which made it a handy base for seeing the local area. I stayed last November and had a pleasant visit. My solo room had a window, and it was cozy and well cared for. The shared bathrooms were cleaner than I expected. I was surprised that guests have to put on their own sheets and pillowcase when they arrive, then take them off again at checkout. That made the stay feel less seamless than I’d expected, though it wasn’t a major problem for me. The staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable. For a budget stay in the area, I’d recommend it to other travelers.

The owner was always checking in, smiling, and ready to help me. They look after the place as if it were their own home, and it shows: the furniture looks nearly new, everything is in good shape, and the decor is lovely. Even with busy streets nearby, I hardly heard any noise. The station, bus stop, and popular night market of Keelung are all close by. I’m really happy with the time I spent here and would highly recommend staying.

I arrived in heavy rain, and the owner was so helpful. He gave me a cloth to wipe down my bike and helped with a bit of maintenance, which I really appreciated. The hostel is clean and has a nice social feel. I’d definitely come back.
