The landlady was kind and helped right away when our room had no hot water. Breakfast was noodles with three side dishes, plus refillable oatmeal and fruit. The room had a simple natural look with some style, and the parking lot was large. It was a quiet place to stay, with good soundproofing, and mountain views from the window were a nice bonus for someone from the city. There are massage chairs you can use at your discretion. The massage felt great, though I worried about damaging the chairs, so think it over before using them. The road has spectacular fruit tree scenery: in Mogok tangerine season, you may see a large area of fruit with a lotus-colored, sunscreen-like coating, which is actually calcium carbonate on the peel. There may also be dragon fruit fields lit at night, like the Milky Way reflected on the ground. Couples can stop for photos if roadside parking is available. It's close to Zinan Temple and Batongguan Sheliao Ancient Trail. If you can't find a room at Sun Moon Lake or Xitou Monster Village, this could be an option. I drove myself, so I'm not sure about shuttle service. You can ask the shop owner for directions, and I suggest doing that because the road is narrow and passing other vehicles takes patience and some skill. The water pressure is a little low. It may not matter much with short hair, but washing long hair could take more time. There's also a cemetery along the way, which may bother people who are afraid of that.

The owner was so friendly, and the kids and my friends had a blast trying the shrimp-catching activity. It's a unique thing to do. The guesthouse is close to nature, with fresh air and a peaceful setting, and the bed was large and very comfortable.

The kids rode bikes and played with the family's children in the open space out front, and they all said they want to come back. The landlady was very friendly. It's some distance from the main road, so buy what you need before heading up. The road is a little narrow, but it's manageable if you drive slowly. There are signs along the way, and Google Maps should guide you there without trouble.

A nice escape from the city, with clean surroundings and fresh air. The owner and her mother were very friendly. Breakfast was a healthy, nourishing bowl of bitter tea oil noodle soup with pumpkin, loofah, and bamboo shoots. Delicious, and highly recommended!
