The B&B is tucked away from the road and surrounded by plants. It’s clean and neat, with a friendly, family-style feel, and it wasn’t crowded. You can walk to the town center in about 2 minutes, though it only really comes alive on weekends. On Monday nights, there’s a super mini night market (night market). We were classmates getting together for a reunion, and Hongyang B&B felt welcoming. The owner treated us like family, offering plums and brewing tea for us. Our room was bright, spacious, comfortable, clean, and tidy.

The pillows were too low for me, and I had trouble sleeping. The room was clean enough, but the bathroom mat looked so dirty I didn’t dare use it. Breakfast was simple, just boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, steamed buns, and one banana each, but the portions were about right. They said Xitou was a ten-minute drive away, though it actually took more than twenty minutes.

I’ve only just got back, and already I miss how quiet and beautiful the guesthouse was. The owner was wonderfully warm and down to earth.

We stayed over Chinese New Year, and the place felt tucked away and peaceful. The room was clean and comfortable, and flowers filled the outdoor garden. Breakfast was simple but tasty: sandwiches, unsweetened soy milk, boiled eggs, and steamed sweet potatoes. It made a balanced meal.
