The building is old, though it’s kept in good condition, and the sustainability policy is a plus. There’s a water fountain on each floor. The stay was okay and there weren’t any major issues, but I didn’t enjoy the food and think the taste could be better.

The hotel slippers are a bit like tatami mats. They aren’t disposable, but they’re specially cleaned and disinfected, so I felt comfortable using them. The staff were kind, the facilities had everything I expected, and I slept really well. Its convenient location and transport, wide range of family activities, and professional ecology guides make Xia Ti Hotel a strong choice in the scenic area. Online reviews are overwhelmingly positive, which reflects how much care they put into things. Whether you want to explore Xitou’s ecology or just spend a vacation at the hotel, there are activities for children of different ages, and they’ve been very well reviewed online. I’m glad I got to stay somewhere so good, and I’ll choose it again next time I’m in Xitou.

The rooms were satisfactory, with standard space and amenities, though the bathrooms could use another shelf or somewhere to hang clothes. Meals were adequate, and we didn’t go hungry, but nothing stood out. At dinner on our group tour, I was surprised that they didn’t offer any drinks, not even water. Breakfast made up for that with plenty of beverage choices. Shante is a modest hotel on a quiet stretch of road toward Xitou. It’s peaceful if that’s what you want, but there’s nothing to do, see, or shop for nearby. It’s countryside.

Afternoon tea was amazing, and dinner was delicious. I stayed two nights, booking the first through Agoda and the second with a voucher from a travel exhibition. I was upgraded to a better room both nights. I was in 909, with a wooden tub on the balcony and a mountain view. My in-laws stayed in 908, which had a better mountain view and a larger balcony tub. Breakfast leaned Chinese style, though there were some Western options. I’d highly recommend this hotel.
