The service needs improvement. Housekeeping couldn’t even get the sheets right, they were inside out. The hot water system also isn’t adequate for such a cold place, and some spots most people don’t check were very dirty. It’s cheap compared with nearby accommodations, but not comfortable.

The forest is easy to stroll through, and the natural tree groves and eco-sensitive art make for a beautiful setting. But with 30-50 buses full of visitors, a peaceful nature walk isn’t really an ideal experience.

The scenery is lovely, but the room needs some attention. I couldn't get the television to work, and the bathroom door was difficult to shut. Booking was the biggest frustration: it was hard to reserve a room, and you have to wait for staff to call you back.

The rooms were clean and pleasant. The Wi-Fi was weak, so don't count on browsing much, but it didn't spoil the hikes around xitou.

The trees are the standout here, tall and straight, many more than 50 years old. There are wooded trails for walking and a small lake along the way. A lovely nature walk.
