The location made everything easy, with pretty much everything right at the doorstep. Our room was huge, clean, nicely furnished, and kept tidy, with fresh towels each day during our three-night stay. The soundproofing gave my family a quiet night’s sleep, and the bed and pillows were excellent. I was surprised how well everything worked for an older hotel, right down to the little electronics, and the renovations and furniture felt current. The bathtub was the biggest I’ve come across in Taiwan after more than ten hotel stays. One small snag: the central light controls were in traditional Chinese characters, but I figured them out in five seconds with Google Translate Lens. The disposable shaver was also a 10/10, good quality and even came with shaving cream. We brought our own pillows, but never took them out of their vacuum pack. It convinced me we don’t need a five-star hotel for a family trip. Breakfast was basic, served in a small, busy but cosy restaurant. The staff there were attentive and kept an eye on my kids while I went to get food. Staff in general were warm and helpful. They offered great advice when I was talking with my wife in the lobby about our plans, and the hotel seemed well staffed even at peak times. Check-in and checkout were so quick and hassle-free that each took under a minute, though I’d allowed extra time. We had a tough choice between this place and one of the many kids’ theme hotels in the area. We liked the idea of the kids having a comfortable room without distractions, and we’d had some hygiene concerns in a themed room on our last trip. No regrets. This was a perfect base for a family visit to Yilan, and I’d choose it again. Taiwan and Japan are our favourite holiday destinations. For a smaller hotel, the staffing and service were impressive at both busy and quiet times. Love from Singapore

The buffet had a good range of food, and the staff were welcoming and very friendly. We’d booked a room for two and were upgraded to one for four. The hotel is right beside Luodong Night Market, and it was fairly quiet at night. If there’s a space outside, you can park at the hotel; otherwise, the free lot for guests is about a 6-7 minute walk away. The room itself was too dated for me to want to return. There was water left around several drains when we arrived, the bed felt dusty, and parts of the walls were scratched. We found a fan in the closet, but it was so dusty we didn’t use it. The service was great, but the room’s condition put me off coming back.

Cliff, Fizz, Mina, and Jeff made our four-night stay in Yilan memorable. They coordinated with each other, remembered our strict vegetarian diet, and arranged packed vegetarian lunches for our sightseeing days. The hotel chef even learned to prepare some Indian dishes so we could eat well. That was wonderful hospitality. Our room was clean and spacious for two, and the facilities were great. Thanks for making us so comfortable.

The room had plenty of space, and it was easy to get around from this convenient location. Breakfast changed from day to day, and the service felt like a good reflection of the hotel’s quality.
