The owners were so sincere and thoughtful, and they helped us get connected with whatever we needed around penghu. They’re the best, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff were awesome and accommodating, and helped arrange scooters so we could get around. The rooms were nicely appointed, too. It’s a quiet spot within walking distance of the center old town. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in town.

We loved how many little details they’d thought of in the very clean, comfortable rooms: separate recycling bins, a kettle stored neatly by the fridge, a magnifying mirror, and drinking water refill stations on every floor. Ms. Liao checked in with us throughout our stay, and the breakfast was different each of our 3 mornings, with local favorites. She also introduced activities and restaurants, booked island hopping and snorkeling, and told us where to get a great fireworks view. Before we arrived, the hotel asked about scooter rental, but we didn’t know how to ride. They offered free transfers to and from the airport instead. The location was convenient: 5 minutes on foot to the fireworks park, 2 minutes to the bus terminal and family mart for the sightseeing bus, and 8 minutes to the old street, with plenty of shops and restaurants around. My favorite places were a nearby gelato shop with black pineapple gelato and an oyster restaurant across from the bus terminal. There’s also a nice rooftop where you can see the fireworks, though we decided to watch from the park up front. Highly recommend this hotel. We had a great stay, and Ms. Liao was extremely nice.

The B&B is across the street from the military base. Ms. Liao was so hospitable and handled just about everything, from suggesting places and foods to try to arranging airport pickup and dinner reservations if you want them. Our room, with 2 queen beds, was beautiful, quiet despite being next to a street, and much more spacious than the other rooms. It opened onto a balcony. The bathroom had everything from toothbrushes to shower gels, and bottled water was provided. There’s also filtered water on each floor, and we were encouraged to refill our bottles for environmental reasons. Breakfast came with a couple of options each day, so we could try different things. Ms. Liao accommodated food allergies once we told her, and replaced eggs with something else. Drinks included soy drink, milk tea, or coffee. On our last day, our flight was scheduled for 8 pm, but we were tired and wanted to leave earlier. When changing that flight wasn’t possible, Ms. Liao called other airlines, found us an earlier flight, and we ended up paying less for the tickets. She even took my cousin by scooter to the travel agency to book them, and her husband drove us to the airport. It all happened within an hour. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Peng Hu, I highly recommend this B&B. Ms. Liao and her husband go above and beyond to take care of you.
