Lucky Bay Bed and Breakfast

The lady boss knows Penghu well and gave us helpful information about sights, restaurants, and tours. She arranged breakfast each morning and made sure it arrived at the time we asked for. The location was just right, and we also had airport pickup and drop-off and bicycles to use. Our rooms were spacious and clean. We had a happy three-night family stay at Lucky Bay in March 2020, and I’d definitely come back to Penghu.

The hotel staff were friendly.

The owner's help made a real difference when our rental car was hit by a drunk driver while parked. At nearly 11 pm, they patiently and quickly got the CCTV footage for the police. We were so thankful. They were kind in other ways too: our work trip to Qimei ran into strong winds and several days of ferry cancellations, so the landlady encouraged us to extend. When we returned and had to wait until our 8 pm flight the next day, she rented us another room and let us use it until we left for the airport. In the off-season there were fewer guests, but during peak season you do need to check out on time so the room can be cleaned. The place felt welcoming from the start. We changed into indoor slippers, and the spacious living room had a high ceiling. The elevator was handy with luggage, and our “Good Fortune Double Room” had a lovely view from the door and a small balcony. The room and bathroom were spotless. The floor-to-ceiling balcony windows kept out sound so well we couldn't hear ships entering the harbor, and earplugs were also provided for noise-sensitive guests. We originally booked one night for work in Qimei, but ended up staying longer. In November, the room was under NT$2000. It came with a hairdryer, towels, shampoo, face wash, TV, sofa, and coffee table. Breakfast was a MOS Burger voucher, and they could arrange car or motorcycle rentals, with the car delivered to the guesthouse. There was also a free rooftop washing machine and detergent. The landlady's care made us feel very welcome.

A good-value place to stay in Penghu, with clean rooms and bathrooms. It's close to the busy area, too.
