YENTAI Hotel

For what it costs per night, this hotel is amazing. We’ve been here four days, and I don’t agree with the reviews saying breakfast isn’t great. There are loads of choices, from traditional Chinese food to more English-style options. Dinner is a simpler menu during the week, with combination plates, hot pot, and curry. On weekends they have a buffet with more options than you can imagine. The room is big, the restaurant is very good, and the staff are friendly. The gym, though, is pretty worthless, just three neglected pieces of equipment. Better to run outside if you’re comfortable navigating traffic.

Breakfast was good, with plenty of local dishes as well as international choices, and the staff were friendly, always serving with a smile. They only speak Mandarin, though. The hotel has few facilities, and its rooms are clean and comfortable. I stayed in a room on level 5, and it was up to a good standard, with a big toilet and spa showers. The bidet is an older type without spray. The hotel has an elegant, traditional feel, with wooden antique style and contemporary Chinese wooden decor.

For the price, this is a nice hotel. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was decent, and there’s a water dispenser on level B1. There’s no pool. Yentai is a 3 star hotel on Penghu island, with a hot pot restaurant on level 1. The staff were polite and friendly, and suggested places to visit around Penghu. There’s no Uber here, so use a local taxi provider.
