Simple life hostel

It's a simple place, but handy for getting around, with lots of dining choices nearby. A good fit for backpackers. The owners were very hospitable and thanked us for bringing our group of adults and children.

The common areas were kept very clean, and you can dry clothes on the third floor. Facilities were excellent overall. The bathroom is on the small side and might feel cramped for bigger men, though the shower and toilet are separated. One downside was a long-stay older woman who didn't seem to need much sleep. She came back to her room at 11 PM the first night and after 1 AM the next. That's pretty typical of backpacker hostels, so people need to understand each other. If it were me, I would've showered on the first floor.

The shared spaces are roomy, comfortable, and clean, and the photos match the hostel. There's a fridge, water dispenser, washing machine, and clothes hangers. The blankets and pillows were comfortable, with bedside lamps but no curtains. The toilet and shower are separate. It's conveniently located for picking up supplies at 7-Eleven or getting breakfast at Lion Market. There are no elevators, and the stairs are quite steep, so take care with luggage. When the airport closed, the owner messaged right away to check on us and see if we needed to extend our stay.

During four days of hiking around Matsu Island, I found the guesthouse easy to reach by bus. Convenience stores, restaurants, and souvenir shops were all around it. Highly recommended!
