Four Points by Sheraton Taipei Bali

The buffet breakfast was okay, and the minibar was great, restocked whenever the room was cleaned. The pool, though, was the coldest I’ve ever swum in, at 16 degrees Celsius. It would have been enjoyable if it were heated. The hotel is a bit far from the main tourist areas, so we spent a lot on Uber rides. Staff were polite and friendly, though not everyone at reception spoke English. It’s a beautiful, very clean hotel, but there’s plenty to improve. We’ve stayed at several Marriott hotels, and enjoyed this one the least. The rooms were clean and nice, but lacked things like toothbrushes and pajamas. We also had to ask for another bath towel every time. They kept giving us three towels for four guests. Water leaked into the powder room whenever someone showered. Staff tried to fix it after we reported it, but it still leaked. They could have tested the repair before we had to complain again. The front desk did their best to find us another room. The shower still leaked there, but less. We appreciated the effort, though moving rooms in the middle of the night when we were exhausted meant packing all over again. We left some things behind in the first room. The next day we searched and called reception to retrieve them, and got them on the second day after moving. Since we hadn’t checked out, they should have brought our things to us automatically.

Breakfast was neatly organized into sections, with pastries, noodles, dim sum, and fresh fruit. The food facilities were convenient and nice. During our family trip, we found the hotel comfortable and quiet despite the surrounding industrial area. Staff were polite and very helpful. The toilet had a bidet, and the shower room included a bathtub. They provided mineral water for the tub, and the shower products were good quality. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair soft, and the water felt smooth on my skin. Toothbrushes weren’t supplied, but were available to buy from the vending machine on the first floor. A good family hotel with nice facilities and service.

Breakfast was a highlight, with omelets made to order and even smoked salmon. Each room also has its own private hot spring, which made the stay really relaxing. The pool area is lovely, and even just lounging beside it is comfortable. The gym has mostly treadmills and stationary bikes, with dumbbells for strength training.

The room was spacious and had a good view. The hotel is in a strategic location, service was quick and friendly, and breakfast offered lots of options. One odd thing: when I went over to look at the swimming pool, a staff member said I couldn’t enter just to look around. Still, I had a nice stay.
